Description

The Ghost Nebula, designated as VdB 141, is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Cepheus.
1470 light years away, it is an isolated Bok globule with a diameter of over 2 light years, where stars make the nebula shine a brownish color.
VdB 141, as can be seen in the photo, is surrounded and included by several molecular clouds that make up the Cepheus Molecular Cloud Complex: a vast star-forming region of the Orion Arm, rich in giant molecular clouds and very blue star associations. young and bright. It takes its name from the constellation of Cepheus, in whose direction it is located when viewed from Earth. Together with the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, it is one of the formation regions closest to us, although the latter is smaller in size.
This photo is a collaboration with Michele Russo that contributed for the L channel, with his Televue NP 101.
